Thriftstore finds!!

We were at my local thriftstore, (I call it mine because I like to go there, if I can ones a week, and my love does not! :) ). But this time he was with me and he found these great chairs for in our yard. For a moment it looked like they were sold, but no. they're just perfect for us. I also liked this 'ear'table. So happy.
It was a good day!.

Hier maak je me blij mee!

In a next post I will show you the transformation.

What is it? ........it's a hotel!

Yesterday we had a job to do in Rotterdam, now this city was, as many others in Holland, old with lots and lots of old buildings. But than WW2 came and a lot of the city was gone. Now it has all these amazing new buildings and its a big interesting city these day,s. We were across the street at (yet a new building site) for a new appartement building. Before they sell the appartements they let the potenial buyers see the vieuw from 30m, 60m, 90m, etc. etc. We make the panorama pictures for them to use in their computer program.

Any way, across the street I saw this great house boat, in the center of the city, wich turned out to be a hotel. Isn't it great, it is very modern and the quest can take out this round rubber boat to tour the city, I had never seen it before. I would stay there. (Its a bit stuppid of me, we have this great hi tech camera and I used my little one to make these foto's, so you can't see the little boat very well but it even has a sun umbrella.)

A little bit of summer yet to come??

So, the change in weather came, well its been a weird summer overall. But this last week its been pretty good, Not to Shabby at all ;). This is good for us for the photography work, and it seems like also for the cats and the flowers.

This flower I bought a couple of months ago and the same day the winds started up, so the flowers where gone immidiatly. And now after all this time,... some more purple flowers. It makes me so happy.

From fabric into a pilow!

I got this fabric at a store that had a lot of choice, this one I thought was on sale
but when I paid for it....not so much, realy expensive. Any way I made this large ( 90cm x 90cm) pilow out of it. The little ones I made also.

On the other side I used a bright color, it turned out realy nice if I say so myself.

Not looking...... but finding!

A couple of weeks ago I went with my mom to Franeker, wich is a nice little old town. It was a saterday and sunny, we went late around one aclock (shops close at 5).
We both did our thing and got back in the car around 16.45. We took a back road to leave the city and past a little brocante shop 'Het Allegaartje. We had been there many times, but thougt that it would be closed, but no, stuff still stood outside, so we went in and looked around. Let me tell you its a tiny réaly tiny shop, with so much stuff!, you look every where and there is stuff. It's so full you have to pick up pots and pans and chairs and glasses to find just that plate or tea-cup you are looking for. It is absolutly not overseeable, but só much fun to search through.
A view post back I showed the plates I found there with the purple flowers, (there was also a salad bowl and a soup terine with the same flowers, wich I didn't buy and probably should have!? But the prices are a little higher than I am used to at my thriftshop!).
And while paying for the plates I say this little old bag, its small and I use it as a wallet.

The tea cups I got at a different place, they are so cute. When ever I have a lazzy afternoon and the sun is out, I take my teapot with one of these cups and drink my tea. Its so much better than drinking it from a mug, which I do in the evening before I go to sleep. But when I have the time I do the whole english tea thing;).

Some more lavender love! I can't get enough of it just yet.

This idea I got from my friend Ellen from pjotrtom. She is very crafty with a lot of ideas, lots of inspiration in her home!.
I made these blankets with different patterns on front and back.
They are so comfy for the cold evenings.
The other day it was still realy hot, but afcourse than when it gets too hot here in Holland the weather gods give us a lot of rain, and thunder and lightning.
After dinner I still sat outside when it started raining, I had this new tryangel cover hung up and could sit underneath it (must be like having a veranda) while the rain realy came down. So I took my blankets and sat outside, nice and warm!.

Lavender Heart

My memories of summer holiday in french are many, and most of all those large fields of lavender. It is such a wonderful smell. In Holland we don't have those fields but we have to make do with some in the garden, how ever small.
Now is the time to cut them and I have been making these lavender hearts full with the flowers. Nice to but in between the towels or under your pilow. (The fragrance has a calming effect). mmmmm.

And as these are making themselfs comfortable.........

Is this one still working his little tail off.

Treasure hunt

I was at the thriftstore and was about to leave, this time not finding anything.
A truck stopped and pulled into the yard of the store, delivering stuff.
There was not much in the truck but I spotted this beauty rightaway, all the way in the back.
The guy from the store took everything out and put it on one side in the building, while I waited for the chair.
One man took it out of the truck,.....and swang it high! up in the air!, I am not kidding you, and threw it on a pile of (what I thougt was real trash). I mean sure it has some broken parts, but come on!
I run over and asked them to take it of the pile!!
Then it was mine for € 2,-.

This is a servingtray with magezine holders on each side, found it at te same thriftstore. Paint intact, nothing wrong with it.
